ROSALIND DANIEL-WALKER

Community Leader | Business Executive | Strategic Planner

Rosalind Daniel-Walker, a community leader in Prince George’s County, Maryland, knows how to work with people and get things done. Rosalind’s tremendous diversity management skills reflect over 30 years of experience with Verizon Communications, overseeing telecommunication services to high-profile agencies including the Office of White House Communications,  Federal Emergency Management Agency, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and the District of Columbia government.

In her role as Senior Manager, Rosalind worked face to face with customers to negotiate best practices, efficiency, and efficacy while managing multi-million dollar accounts.  She created the first Leadership Academy to groom and provide opportunities for talented employees seeking to further their career within the company. Her outstanding efforts at Verizon earned her several awards and membership into the “Masters Club.”

Rosalind’s management prowess has greatly benefited the county. During her tenure as Chair of Building and Properties for the Ivy Community Charities,  the organization was able to purchase (debt-free) and rehabilitate two properties in Suitland.

As a result, the Charities now have a nearly 6,000-square-foot Ivy Youth and Family Center that houses administrative offices, meeting spaces and a multipurpose room, where they provide services to improve the academic, health, cultural, and socio-economic status of county youth and families. Ivy Community Charities has been recognized as one of the outstanding non-profit organizations in Prince George’s County; it enjoys support from the  Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. (Iota Gamma Omega chapter) of which Rosalind is a member.

Rosalind also serves as Vice-President of the Mount Rose (MD) Chapter of The Links, Inc., where she is responsible for all matters related to membership and plays a key role in fundraising to support the organization’s youth, arts and human services programs.

Rosalind earned her bachelor’s degree from Howard University and obtained professional training at Trinity College, University of Maryland Global Campus, Johns Hopkins and Villanova universities.  She is married to Joseph Walker; they have one son and two granddaughters.
