Network Engineer | Community Leader


Olaolu Adewole (Ola) is a skilled network engineer and entrepreneur and is passionately committed to helping young people develop professional life skills. Ola has extensive experience in developing and managing large enterprise networks across a variety of sectors, including the federal government, telecommunications and financial services. For 17 years, he was a senior network engineer for the U.S. Census Bureau, providing network engineering design, consulting and management services. 

He worked variously in consulting and management positions in United Africa Company, Accenture (formerly Anderson Consulting) before joining Citibank, Nigeria, and later became the pioneer head of technology at Guaranty Trust Bank in 1991. A few years later, Ola became an entrepreneur, and founded Goforit Inc., a company based in Bowie, Maryland that offers high-level consulting services to small and mid-sized businesses in diverse economic sectors, setting up and investing in many public and private enterprises overseas. 

Ola serves on the board of directors for Bitflux Communications Ltd., a wholesale broadband provider that also supports leadership development and management training programs. For example, it hires newly qualified graduates who are then rigorously trained by rotation for one year in preparation for the job market.

Ola earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (graduating magna cum laude) from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria and a Master of Divinity at the Bethel Seminary of the East in St. Paul, Minnesota. Ola is a member of the First Baptist Church of Glenarden and a committed disciple of Jesus Christ.
