LENWARD C HOOD

CEO | Business Owner | Civic Leader

Lenward Hood, president and CEO of Omega Supply Services, Inc., knows the value of relationships with customers and suppliers, which have been the cornerstone of his success. He also knows the value of flexibility. Following 28 years as a wholesale food distributor – with new capabilities and market demands – the highly successful executive pivoted to wholesale supply of pipes and other materials needed to repair and maintain water infrastructure. The Washington, DC company also distributes occupational safety and certain construction supplies.

Lenward, a Fort Washington resident, frequently makes time to contribute his talents to enriching the community and began his professional life as a vocational rehabilitation counselor for the District of Columbia Department of Human Services.

Currently, he serves as chaplain for the South County Economic Development Association and previously served on the Board of Visitors for the North Carolina Central University’s (NCCU) School of Business. Lenward has long supported NCCU, where he majored in sociology. In 2015, he was inducted into the Society of Golden Eagles, a group comprised of NCCU alumni graduating 50 or years ago that plays an instrumental role in raising funds for the university.

Lenward is also involved with organizations such as the Andrews Joint Air Force Base Business and Community Alliance and served on the Fort Washington Medical Center Advisory Council  from 2010 to 2016. Earlier, he was Vice President, Board of Directors Prince George’s County Community Television.

Devoted to his faith, Lenward received the Outstanding Achievement award from the Coalition of Concerned Christian Businessmen in 1999. He has also written several articles and publications, including:

  • A Journey In Truth: A Tribute to the Life and Ministry of Isabella Baumfree/Sojourner Truth; and

  • Remembering with Grateful Hearts: A Memorial Day Commentary.

Lenward has been married to Barbara Hood for over 50 years, and they have two daughters, Tanya and Kimberly, who also graduated from their father’s alma mater, North Carolina Central University.
